In A Nut (Technically Seed) Shell  is an animated representation of the natural cycle of almond trees.  Central California exports 80% of the world’s almonds, within the US and abroad. Co-currently, two major natural resources needed to grow the trees - bees and water - are in collapse and depletion. Yet the industry grows, despite the fact, as almond by-products are in increasing demand.

The video in-progress is hand painted, composited, and digitally animated.

It aims to invoke curiosity and awe with all the intricacies and collaborations that exist within the natural world, and then the consequences of the breakdown of these connected threads, via climate change and human made alterations.
